Reminders and notes

A reminder on time, a note that is yours alone.

Reminders for every hearing, at the moments you choose, personal reminders for a day you pick, and notes only you see. No reminder comes at night.

The Reminders screen: the switch for reminders before hearings and the five moments, with the evening before at 19:00 and the morning of the hearing at 07:30 ticked.
A personal reminder: the case and the court, what the court wrote about the appeal, the note that you choose the date, the day chosen, 09:00 and your note.

How we remind you

  1. You choose the moments

14, 7 or 3 days before, the evening before at 19:00, the morning of the hearing at 07:30. By default, the evening before and the morning.

  2. One case, its own way

A case can have moments of its own, from its menu: More › Reminders for hearings.

  3. It comes once

One reminder per hearing and moment. If the hearing moves, the reminders are planned again from the new day.

Every hearing, at the moment you chose.

The reminder tells you the case number and the court. It comes as a notification: on your phone or, on the web, in the browser, if you allowed its notifications.

  • A day when a postponed ruling is due gets reminders just like a hearing.
  • A muted case gets no reminders.
  • A late reminder goes only while it still makes sense: the evening one until 22:00, the morning one until the hearing's time.

A reminder of your own, for your day.

On a case you follow you set a reminder for a day and time of your choosing, between 07:00 and 22:00, with a note of up to 200 characters. Set beside a ruling that gives the deadline for an appeal, the reminder keeps the court's words as it wrote them.

  • It comes once, as a notification and by email if your emails are on; neither carries your note.
  • It comes on a muted case too: you asked for it.
  • You see it in Hearings and on the case card.

You choose the date; we do not compute deadlines.

Notes and labels only you see.

On a case card you write a private note and give it a label, for example “the enforcement challenge”, which only you see. The label makes it easy to find in Cases and in search.

Your note and label never appear in notifications, emails or the calendar's subscription link.

In a group, the reminder goes to whoever goes to the hearing.

In a shared group each case can have someone responsible, and hearing reminders go to them by default. Each member chooses, in My notifications: only where I am responsible, every hearing of the group, or none. The group has its own note and label on each case, which every member sees, apart from yours.

No reminder comes at night.

Between 22:00 and 07:00 no reminder goes out, and a personal one you set only between 07:00 and 22:00. On a phone, other notifications come without sound in those hours, if you left Quiet nights on.

Questions about reminders and notes

Do I get reminders by email too?

Hearing reminders come only as notifications, on your phone or in the browser. A personal reminder comes by email too, if your emails are on.

What happens if the hearing moves?

A hearing moved to another day or time is a new hearing: its reminders are planned again from the new day.

Who sees my notes?

Only you. No other user sees your note and label, not even colleagues in a shared group: for them there is the group's note, written apart.

Can I set a reminder on a case I do not follow?

No: a personal reminder belongs to a case you follow. If you stop following it, its reminders go with it.
